INTRODUCING – Nicholas J. Newsum, M.D.

Dr. Nicholas J. Newsum is a double Board-Certified orthopedic surgeon from Lakewood, CO. He completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado at Boulder where he graduated with distinction. He then went to medical school in Ohio at the University of Toledo where he was elected into the Arnold P. Gold Humanism Honor Society by his peers for his outstanding interpersonal and compassionate clinical care. Dr. Nicholas J. Newsum was also selected as a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha National Honor Society as a 3rd year student, an honor only given to the top 4% of medical students in the country.

He then completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Florida in Gainesville where he participated in the care of all Florida Gator sports programs. On the first day of residency, Dr. Nicholas J. Newsum met his wife, Bridget, and they now have 3 children.

Following residency, Dr. Nicholas J. Newsum completed a fellowship in Hand, Wrist, Elbow, and Microsurgery at the nationally recognized Midwest Orthopaedics at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, IL under Dr. Mark S Cohen. During his time there he participated in the care of the Chicago Bulls and Chicago White Sox. After fellowship, he and his family moved back to Central Florida. In their free time they are mostly outdoors, swimming, fishing, going to amusement parks, or going to the beach.
